BMX Wheels

You need to get the proper type of BMX wheels for your particular bike. Racing wheels are designed differently than jump or freestyle wheels. They are made from lighter materials, such as a 32-spoke light aluminum, to help with faster acceleration. But that light aluminum is not meant to take the impact from jumps or tricks at the dirt track or downtown cement park.

Freestyle BMX bikes usually will have mag or 48-spoke wheels that are extra sturdy with strong rims. Dirt jumping wheels will have some variation such as having 36, 13-gauge heavy duty spokes or even 48 spokes based on the bike usage either more for dirt riding or more for jumping. T here are low profile, sealed and semi-sealed bearing cassette hubs that can come with chromoly axles and single and double-walled, shot allow rims. As you know, price varies with construction materials and design type.
