BMX Seats
BMX seats come in a variety of styles. There are slim, pivotal, phat or railed seats. They can be made out of vinyl, Kevlar, leather and other materials. Some are made with heat treated, chromoly rails of usually 7, 8 or 9mm. Some seats have extra lower padding, which flatlanders especially like for extra protection when upside down. Some people have complained that the Kevlar versions of seats gets dirty quick and is hard to clean as opposed to the vinyl versions. So if you like keeping a nice and squeaky clean seat, then you may want to consider vinyl over Kevlar. Some like comfortable, padded seats others do not care and prefer a hard sided seat that is light and slim. It really depends on the style of riding you do most.

BMX Seats - Tips on Height Positioning
Some people like to have their seats adjusted really low so that it is easier to do certain types of tricks. Some like their seats set higher so that it is easier to pedal and do no handed tricks where you can use the taller seat to clench down on with your legs. It all comes down to personal preference and we suggest you try out different heights until you find what suits your style best.
To remove your BMX seats from the post, insert an Allen wrench and turn counterclockwise. Pay attention to how all the pieces fit together as your taking them apart so it will be easier and faster to put them back together in the same order. For most seat assemblies, you will not have to take the bolts apart, just loosen them enough so you can slide the seat off. You may want to regrease the threads so the next time you need to change or adjust the seat, the bolts will loosen up easily. First wipe clean the old threads and apply some waterproof grease. Now you can slide in your new BMX seat, line up the brackets and tighten the bolt back down with the allen wrench.
